Eva Varela Firme is a Little Green Change Schools Programme Adviser.
She is the Eco-Schools lead, STEM Coordinator, a Physics teacher and staff governor at Herschel Grammar School.
Her teaching background also covers Biology and Geology, and she has a passion for sustainability and STEM. She has successfully led STEM clubs which included long term projects such as Go4SET from EDT, where students achieved crest awards and won several competitions linking STEM with sustainability such as lockers and insoles that generated renewable energy from human power, using generators and Piezoelectric cells, and cooling systems in computers that improved their efficiency by using the water heat to heat up tap water and generated electricity using Peltier cells . She also coordinated a variety of environmental competitions and campaigns, and environmental improvements, including gaining Eco-Schools Green Flag status with distinction at Herschel Grammar School.
