We Love Pre-loved

Our We Love Pre-loved activities cover a range of actions from Children's Give and Take events, to Halloween and Christmas pre-loved clothing rails at libraries and schools, and more.

In 2026, we are also hoping to launch our We Love Pre-loved World Book Day initiative, subject to funding being gained.

To be informed about future We Love Pre-loved events and other free community events, follow us on Instagram, Facebook, Bluesky, and LinkedIn, or sign up to our e-news.

Christmas Give and Take Little Green Change

Example: Children's Christmas Give and Take event, 2025.

Our 2025 annual Children's Christmas Give and Take event in Lyme Regis, Dorset, benefitted 228 children with 435.8kg of children's clothing, toys, books and DVDs being rehomed. All the items on offer were donated by local residents and organisations (a huge thank you to them!) and were provided free of charge on the day.

Hundreds more children are expected to benefit from the items that remained, which were donated to local charities and schools including Uplyme Pre-School, Axminster Community Primary Academy, Weldmar Hospicecare, and The Salvation Army.

Thank you to our volunteers from Little Green Change, Dorset Council's Recycling Department, River Lim Action Group, and All Saints CofE Primary School (pictured); to the Mayor and Mayoress of Lyme Regis for visiting our event to see and hear about the important environmental education and action work we do in the community, and to our event funder, Lyme Regis Town Council.

Example: Halloween clothes swap, 2025

In 2025, we ran a Little Green Change kids' Halloween clothes swap event on Saturday 18th October 2025 at Bridport Library in Dorset. The rail remained at the library until Friday 31st October, and was extremely popular with local residents.

All the pre-loved items on offer were donated by local residents and organisations (a huge thank you to them!) and were provided free of charge.

In total, we estimate over 100 children benefitted. 33 families with 42 children ranging in age from 1-10 years completed the optional feedback forms, with more than double that choosing to benefit from the items but not fill out a form.

We received lots of positive comments including, “Wonderful and very needed. Well done!” - Simon. “Great idea, saves a lot of one-off purchases at Halloween.” - Isabel. “What an amazing thing!” - Natasha. “Great selection to choose from.” - Jon. “Love this idea! Lets children see the benefit of taking care of their things so they can be given to others.” - Zoe.

A huge thank you to our event funder Bridport Town Council, and to the staff at Bridport Library for accommodating us.
